Question: Have you ever done something that you wish you could go back in time to undo?

My Story: Share a personal story where you didn’t get what you deserved.

Bible Story | Adam and Eve eat the forbidden fruit

In your own words, re-tell the story found in Genesis 1:31, Genesis 2:15-17 & Genesis 3:1-6 (we covered this in the previous Bible guide).

Genesis 3:6-12 | What are some of the first impacts we see of sin entering our world?

exploring the bible

Genesis 3:21 | What might God have been trying to teach them by making clothing of skin?

Note: They deserved death, but an innocent animal died in their place. So, they would have realised that what was happening to this animal, should have been happening to them!

Leviticus 4:32-25 | What did people do to be forgiven in the Old Testament?

John 1:29 | Why did John call Jesus the “Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”?

2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 5:7-8, 10 | What has the death of Jesus done for us?

Fun Facts

Grace is a word that means: undeserved kindness. Imagine a bully and his victim both hop onto a bus, but the bully has misplaced his wallet. Then in an act of undeserved kindness the victim pays for the bully’s bus ticket. This is called grace. God has shown this kind of grace to us, but on a much larger scale. We rebelled against him, but God showed us amazing grace by taking our sin and dying in our place.

LIVING IT

Discuss: What is one new thing you learnt today?

Decide: Are you thankful that Jesus took your sin and your death when he died upon the cross?

Do: In your own time, read through Matthew 27:11-50, remembering that Jesus did all this out of his great love for you!
