The Bible

Big Question:

Is the Bible from God and can we trust it?

Intro

The Bible is the world’s most significant collection of writings about God. It has been printed and translated more than any other book in history, nothing else comes close. But where did it come from and is it trustworthy?

Question: What has been your experience with the Bible?

Exploring the Scriptures

2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Timothy 3:15-17 | What does the Bible itself say about where it came from?

Daniel 2:1-6, 7-13, 14-19, 24-30 | An ancient message from God about the future

Daniel 2:31-35 | The dream’s content

Daniel 2:36-43 | The dream’s meaning

Daniel 2:44-45 | A final prediction

The Gift of Jesus

The Bible is a collection of 66 books, written by many authors, from many backgrounds, over a timespan of about 1500 years. Yet despite this diverse background, there is a harmony in its message from start to finish. The Bible is also a storybook, telling not 66 stories, but one consistent story that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation. At the heart of this story is the gift of Jesus, a gift which the Bible claims changes everything!

See John 3:16 for a summary of the Bible’s story.

Living It
